I'm a Creative Strategist geared for disruption and innovation
My journey in the creative industry across Asia has taught me about applying designers' work processes to systematically extract, teach, learn and apply the human-centered techniques to solve problems creatively and innovatively - in my designs, in my work, in my life. Getting an MBA from the Indiana University - Kelley School of Business helped broaden my perspective to include business strategies that drive innovations in a larger scale. My journey has been a process of persistent reinventing and challenging myself in different settings.
My passion for analog photography is rooted in my inner voice to challenge the natural patterns of thinking that are modeled on the repetitive activities and commonly accessed knowledge we surround ourselves with. I learned how to use mechanical cameras and developing the film from scratch to truly appreciate the process and understand the details.
Shooting with analog film reflects my nature as a creative problem solver. I resist the temptation to jump immediately for a quick and easy solution (as in digital photography), but instead, I spend the time learning the principal, fundamental elements of how things work. Through the understanding of the fundamentals, I can then be more critical to analyze opportunities for improvements and drive realistic solutions. Through shooting analog, I learned to be both creative and pragmatic.
As a new parent, I am now responsible for teaching my kid the importance of learning the fundamentals. It inspires me to do a self-reflection and create this website to share my life's journey with others.
I hope my story can inspire others to be more thoughtful and to resist the temptation to jump immediately to a conclusion. Think with an open mind, broadly, uniquely, creatively, and most importantly, to enjoy every moment.
